The Grocery List

With my friend’s permission, I would like to share a conversation we had recently, that may encourage, inspire, or simply give you something to think about.
After a long night of laughter and good conversation (Facetime), I ended the night with a glass of wine. It was great to connect with my friend and share her positive energy. Like many, some days our good vibes are interrupted, and we find ourselves in low places. The next morning, was one of those days.
She texted me stating that she was planning a quick trip to the grocery store and decided to jot down a few things. By the time she wrote the word “eggs”, she found herself in tears. Yes, I said “eggs”. My initial reaction was excitement because I was so happy she thought enough to include me in her moment; and not go it alone.
My response: “I absolutely love the fact that you took the time to open up and share this with me. That’s progress! Depression is real, annoying and a bully. I believe the best medicine is “Gratitude”. Write down what you’re grateful for on that same piece of paper. Then read your whole list again…and you thought it was about grocery”.
A gratitude list is a great way to start your day and acknowledge the good in and around you. What’s on your list?

@eemialee2 That’s awesome how you take the time to recognize that! Many people don’t. They’re either to busy or it’s just not high enough on their list of priorities.
My List:
Zara of course!
I would say having close relationships at work and in my personal life. Knowing that there are people who care about my daughter as much as I do.
