Believe it or not, we all have a dark room. You may call it something different or may not recognize it. Nonetheless, that doesn't mean it’s not there. Let’s be clear, I’m not referring to

ree

the “dark side” -evil, scary, death, etc. or the place where you keep all your secrets; neatly tucked away. We’ll save that topic for a later post. I’m talking about that dark place where we develop.

By definition, a darkroom is used for developing photographs, or a room with the absence of light. When I think of such a room, I think quiet, private, and well organized. An atmosphere that requires concentration, focus, and some form of order. My dark room is a space that’s free from clutter, distractions, and the need to speed.

Where is your dark room? Where do you go to escape, imagine, plan, and/or regroup? Some go to their prayer closet or prayer room; while others sit in their vehicles, parked in the driveway. One of my neighbors sit on her patio late at night, when a large portion of the world is sleeping. Where do you go physically, mentally, emotionally, or even spiritually to grow and become a better version of yourself? Remember, greatness develops in dark places. If you can't find the time, make it.
